As of November 24, Zomato will no longer provide us with deliveries…
It is with a heavy heart, that Talabat has announced that they will no longer be offering food deliveries through the app Zomato. According to Caterer, an email was sent regarding the notice and change in platform functionality. The Zomato app will not fully shut down as there will be a new discovery platform being released alongside Zomato Pay called Vibe Check.
What is Vibe Check?
So far, all we can make out from the information is that Vibe Check will be a platform where restaurants can share stories, updates or videos about their venue with the users – similar to Instagram. The platform has allegedly already begun trials in India. According to Caterers email, Talabat has said that they are looking to redifine the way customers experience dining out through the launch of the new feature, along with Zomato Pay which will enhance the value for both the customer and the restaurant partner.
Zomato Pay is set to allegedly replace replace the food ordering application in the emirates, giving users the chance to pay via the application in participating restaurants. Caterer also announced that any outstanding money owed to the restaurant partners by Zomato for pending amounts, unused advertising spend or credit notes will be credited by December 30 2022. However, the application will officially cease delivery this month on Thursday, November 24.
The correspondence to the publication went on to thank Caterer for being a trusted partner of Zomato food ordering over the years. That their contribution has been significant in offering a great experience to and delighting Zomato’s beloved customers. Talabat has yet to respond to Caterer’s request for confirmation of the alleged closing of Zomato.
